Jinli, the first street of Western Shu

Chengdu Jinli, also known as JinGuan city. It is one of the oldest and most commercial streets in the history of Western Shu, known as the "Along the River During the Qingming Festival of Chengdu".

On the origin of Jinli's name

JinLi is the name of a kind of fish, because the baths in this old street are full of Koi(Chinese pronunciation of Koi is JinLi). It is said that koi is a kind of auspicious representative. Not far away from the street, there are many Koi in the pool, swimming slowly. Drop a handful of fish food, the fish will come to grab food immediately, and the fish will gather in one place.

Jinli Street, 550m long, is a famous commercial pedestrian street in Chengdu. With the connotation of Sichuan folkways, folk customs and Three Kingdoms culture, it integrates tourism, shopping, leisure and entertainment. There are teahouses, inns, taverns, theatres and snacks of various flavors. Jinli is also the first choice of Sichuan featured handicrafts. In 2005, it was rated as one of the "top ten commercial pedestrian streets in China", which is as famous as the old streets such as Wangfujing in Beijing and Jianghan Road in Wuhan.

Only when you entered Jinli did you know that it was a place full of beautiful scenery. But the time here will not dance in the wind, in the noise, and with a kind of ancient quiet. Walking, you will blend into the mixed stream of people, watch life with them, and taste the world. It is like an old painting with various meanings, which gathers the simple life of the people in the city. An ancient street leads the original life of the city. At this time, you don't need to think about it. Just immerse myself in it and forget that I am a passer-by. Every shop here is unforgettable and every face touches you.
