The real reason for the rapid demise of the Yuan Dynasty

Yuan Dynasty

In the history of China, the most powerful Dynasty is the Yuan Dynasty, which covers the territory from Asia to Europe. The military front is invincible, which has shocked the European countries to this day. However, the extremely powerful Yuan Dynasty quickly disintegrated and annihilated in the long history after just a few decades of glory.

In China's 5000 years of history, there will be a complete system in the dynasties with long national games. Zhou Dynasty has Zhou system, which can last for 800 years; Han Dynasty has Han system, which can last for 400 years; Tang and Song Dynasties continue the former system. However, there was no complete system in the Yuan Dynasty. For example, the Yuan Dynasty had the method of transferring and dispatching troops, but there was no system of maintaining and training troops. After decades of founding, the troops and horses of the Yuan Dynasty became unorganized and undisciplined waste material.

Zhu Guangqing led the uprising in Guangzhou, which took the Yuan Dynasty seven months to subside. At that time, the Mongolian soldiers and horses had been corrupted and could not be used. Zhu Guangqing was also a Han, so the Han soldiers and horses could not be used. They could only mix Mongolia and Semu people.

Although Zhu Guangqing's uprising was suppressed, it took too long, leading to the rise of all the heroes in the China, including Zhu Yuanzhang, the emperor of the Ming Dynasty.

As for the folk governance, although there was a code "Yuan Dian Zhang" in the Yuan Dynasty, only the Han people and the south people need to abide by the law, and the Mongols and Semu people can abide by their own customs.

There is a case recorded in YuanTongjian(the book name): in the first year of yuanwuzong, a Mongolia monk forced to buy firewood from a Han peddler, and the peddler appealed to the government. At that time, the monk left behind to inquire about the case. The monk led the people to rush into the court and beat Li Bi to pieces. As a result, the monk was pardoned by yuanwuzong.

In the heyday of the Yuan Dynasty, all the disaffections could be appeased by powerful force. However, the military system of the Yuan Dynasty was not perfect, the strong combat effectiveness could not be sustained, and all its laws were simplified, and no effective system could be formed.

At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, Han and Gaoli were forbidden to hold military weapons, and provincial officials only used Mongols people and Semu people. At that time, the prime minister Ba Yan secretly asked to kill five Han people, Zhang, Wang, Liu, Li and Zhao. Therefore, the chaos at the end of the Yuan Dynasty was caused by the Emperor himself, who forced the people to rebel.

After the founding of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang, the founder of the Ming Dynasty, learned from the lessons of the Yuan Dynasty and deepened the system into all aspects of the country, with detailed regulations on clothing, food, housing and transportation. Zhu Yuanzhang set up the yellow book system in order to ensure the people's safety; set up the system of land reclamation to reduce the burden of national military training; some of the official systems created by Zhu Yuanzhang are still in use today.

Compared with the Yuan Dynasty, the Qing Dynasty continued the system of the Ming Dynasty completely, so its national luck was similar to that of the Ming Dynasty, lasting for 268 years.
